Technology is amazing, but what is most amazing about it is the impact that it can have on our lives.

a Turbo

The Turbo Trust has been established to provide the most versatile and advanced technology available "wheelchairs which give three-dimensional motion" to help people to overcome extreme mobility difficulties.

Some people are fortunate that they only need a standard wheelchair, but we provide for the people who need that little bit extra for their mobility. The technology exists, but it is expensive.

We will provide this equipment regardless of age, education or occupation. We aim to provide each individual with the greatest possible range of movement as well as access to as much of their environment as possible.

Technology which is expensive to buy is going to be expensive to take good care of. That is why we will also provide for the ongoing servicing, maintenance and technical support of this kind of mobility equipment so that it can go on working for as long and as effectively as possible.

The cost of buying and maintaining each machine we provide is well in excess of £10,000 and each can be expected to last for five years before it must be replaced.

The Turbo Trust believes in good mobility forever. We know that any delay for a child in learning to move and explore their environment is detrimental, so we will give priority to toddlers for whom every week is vital. We also realise that staying active into adulthood should be a right not a luxury so we have no upper age limit either.

All funds donated to the Turbo Trust are used in our work to buy and maintain high-performance multi-dimensional powered mobility. We ask that our beneficiaries make use of the excellent professional advice already provided by the NHS and other agencies so that we can spend our money where funding is lacking ... on the provision of the technology itself.
